Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. 5th Jan, 2013. High tides and strong winds continue to lash Aberystwyth and the coast of mid Wales. Large waves broke over the promenade, and the RNLI launched the Aberystwyth lifeboat as a precaution, patrolling the coast around the town. Despite the heavy weather, many people visited the promenade to see for themselves the devastation caused by repeated storms. The Welsh Assembly Minister for Natural Resources and Food, Alun Davies, visited the town to view and assess the damage. Credit: Live News
