Madrid is the first stop of the traveling exhibition of urban art 'Lemon Art', formed by eight lemons of two meters high and 330 kilos of weight that can be seen until November 25 in Serrano street, between the Plaza de la Independencia and Ayala Street. Outstanding artists from Spain, France and Germany have designed these pieces that will tour seven European cities over the next few months to become the European lemon showcase within the framework of the Welcome to the Lemon Age information campaign. It is a collaborative action between the European lemon sector and the Grupo pro Arte y Cultura, made up of more than 600 artists from all over the world and chaired by the painter Pedro Sandoval, winner on two occasions at the Florence Biennale. Under the coordination of the painter and founder of the group, Mayte Spíndola, thus eight artists from various fields have come together to create themed designs through the personal vision that each of them has of the lemon. It is a project to make known to the whole world that the best lemons are those that are produced in the Mediterranean basin. We have designed some appetizing lemons that Europeans will fall in love with ”, stated Spínola, author of one of the lemons in the exhibition and who has led the working group formed by Mario Villarroel 'Villasierra', Linda de Sousa, Rosa Gallego, Manuela Picó, Amparo Alegría, the German Elizabeth Junghans and the French Josè Antoine Zaragoza.
