5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 30, 2018) Marines assigned to 1st Platoon, Echo Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment (BLT 2/6), practice simulated non-lethal riot control in the hangar bay aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), May 30, 2018. Iwo Jima, homeported in Mayport, Fla., is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
