Laing (i. 148) describes the seals of Archbishop Forman ( and 878), and says: In the lower part of the seal is a shieldquarterly, first and fourth, a chevron between three fishes haurient,for Forman ; second and third, a horses head erased, and a hawksbell at the neck, for Horsburgh . This seems to be a mistake forthe camels head, and may, perhaps, have suggested the name ofHorsburgh. The arms of Horsburgh of that Ilk were : Azure, ahorses head couped argent.
