Al-together it is a very successful fireplace obtained bysimple means, which, with our gaudy and vulgartendencies, is something rare and cannot be toohighly commended. The broad flower frieze run-ning around the room is an ingenious device forcutting down the height of the ceiling, and givesscale to the room. The other interiors show similartreatment of the walls with simple frieze the dining-room we have a highly decorative glassand metal lamp, but much richer than the one that wenoted over the entrance.
