Delgado, director of Maritime History for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, describes a Navy 3-inch/50 caliber gun used in identifying the shipwreck USS Conestoga (AT 54) during a ceremony at the Navy Memorial. Conestoga left from Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Calif. on March 25, 1921, and was declared lost with her crew 56 crew members on June 30, 1921.
