He was admitted to the bar in 1875and was employed by Judge Thomas M. Cooleyin works on taxations* and Torts. Hemoved to Montana in 1884, and in 1889 waselected attorney-general of the State. Since 1891he has been a non-resident lecturer on mininglaw in the University of Michigan, and hasbeen a large contributor to the law journals ofthe Northwest.
