The design and construction of the subwaybridges, retaining walls, concrete work con-nected with the stations, station buildings andplatforms, as well as the street paving anddrainage for the entire track elevation work,were executed by the Bridge and Building De-partment of the Chicago, Milwaukee & Ry. under the direction of Mr. Loweth,engineer and superintendent. The filling andtrack work were done by the engineering de-partment of the company. With the exceptionof a few minor contracts, all of the construc-tion work was done by the Bridge and Build-ing Departments forces.
