The old British fort (1590) overlooking Duncannon Fishing Harbour and Waterford Harbour, Hook Peninsula, County Wexford, Ireland


Originally a pre-Norman fort, Duncannon was gradually strengthened by the Anglo Irish rulers with the present structure complete in 1590. King James II sailed for Kinsale and France from there and later William of Orange sailed for England after winning the Battle of the Boyne.
