Persecuted minority group Yazidis celebrate Sere Sal, or Yazidi New Year with oil lamps and ululation, in the village of Lalish, Iraqi Kurdistan. It is forbidden to wear shoes near the temple so people walk barefoot among the sacred flames in the courtyards. 18th April 2017
