Cw 7289 Sheep on Longton Marsh Longton Marsh lies on the coast of North West England. The marsh is regularly covered by the tide from the Irish Sea though not to a great extent unless it is a very high tide. Some of the gullies are filled with water a lot of the time irrespective of if it is tide time or not. This allows farmers to have sheep grazing the marsh during the summer months. This area of marsh land is at the confluence of the rivers Ribble and Douglas. This view is looking southwards towards Hesketh Bank. Copyright Colin Wareing Cw 7289 E-mail Phone no 07931 356204
