In sections which have been taken from youngmice, and stained by Golgis method (v. Lenhossek, Katz), several nervefibres can be seen to extend to the limit of the section. The union of thevestibular nerve with the hair-cells takes place by means of contact. Theepithelium of the maculae acusticse is covered by a clear, transparent, semi-fluid substance (Steinbrligge) which coagulates after death, and which, in the.
