Completed by John Wellborn Root and Daniel Burnham of Burnham and Root in 1888, it is considered one of their masterpiece buildings. The 12-story structure is also considered the oldest standing high-rise in Chicago. Its lobby was remodeled by the famed Frank Lloyd Wrigh in 1905 and was restored to the original Wright design in the 1990s.
