Idler pulley is located on slack side of the belt and can be adjusted in line with the emery wheel. Belt is held to same tension at all times by a large spring. There are no flange pulleys used on this machine, with the use of automatic idler the life of the belts is prolonged. Head is constructed with 60 degree angle shaped slides on both sides so that wear can be taken up by adjusting one gib. Every wheel arbor can be adjusted so that a straight wheel will do the same work as a concaved one. Head is adjusted to a 45 degree hook. Saw rest is moved up and down by hand wheel at the right hand side of the machine, convenient for the operator. Adjusting screw is so placed that it cannot become covered with emery dust. The saw rest is made of self hardening steel and can be easily replaced. Back feed is of a new design and is strong, simple and effective. The adjustable eccentric cam on the cam shaft is connected to the long back feed shaft by means of a lever, this lever rocks the back feed shaft that moves the back feed arm. Back feed finger can be turned out of the way and allow saw to be lifted up without interfering, machine is equipped with an adjustable cam.
