Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Aerococcus urinaeequi, coccoid, Gram-positive, facultative anaerobic prokaryote (bacterium). Aerococcus
Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Aerococcus urinaeequi, coccoid, Gram-positive, facultative anaerobic prokaryote (bacterium). Aerococcus urinaeequi formerly known as Pediococcus urinaeequi are alkaline tolerant, lactic acid bacteria, characterized by coccoid cells that divide alternately in two planes (at right angles) to form tetrads. They are chemoorganotrophs, requiring a rich medium for growth. Magnification: x2,200 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
