Designed by John Dobson and built in 1831 by Thomas Telford. The Presbyterian Church of St George rises beyond. Dr John Horsley, who produced Britannia Romana, a history of Roman Britain in the early 1700s, was minister here for 23 years. On the left is the old Chantry, originally a 13 th century chapel of All Saints. "Capability" Brown and William Turner were both born in Morpeth and Lord Admiral Collingwood lived here.
