He was appointed City Bacteri-ologist in 1900, in 1907 Bacteriol-ogist for the State of California, anda year later was made Bacteriologistfor the United States Governmentin Venezuela. His experience and scientific ability won high recog-nition, and in 1910 he was appointed to his present position. He wasmarried in 1895 to Miss Mabel S.
