Leptospirosis is an infectious disease caused by infection with Leptospira bacteria. It is characterised by fever, vomiting, conjunctivitis and muscular pains. Jaundice and renal failure may occur in the severe form of the infection known as Weil's disease. Rodents are the main carriers, along with dogs and farm animals.
