ASAN, Guam (July 19, 2021) - Okkodo High School Marine Corps Junior Officer Reserve Training Corps (JROTC) cadets render salutes during the Asan Beach Landing Memorial ceremony July 16. Military service members, local government officials and residents gathered to recall the military’s liberation of Guam during World War II. The site of the ceremony is where the 3rd Marine Division planted the flag after securing the beachhead. Approximately 55,000 Marines and Army soldiers participated in the battle for Guam.
