The giant Hymir fishes with Thor for the Midgard serpent Jormungandr using the head of Hymir's best ox as bait.

In Norse mythology, Thor was the god of thunder, and thus the god of might and war. The son of Odin, he had a magical hammer named Mjollnir that returned to him, a belt of strength, and iron gloves. His chariot was pulled by two goats—Tanngrisni ("gap-tooth" ) and Tanngnost ("tooth grinder").This 1905 illustration shows Thor with Hymir, a giant and the husband of Hroor, fishing with Thor for the Midgard serpent Jormungandr using the head of Hymir's best ox as bait. One version of the saga has Hymir cutting the serpent loose, as shown here.
