A silver-mounted German hunting sword, circa 1730/40 Narrow single-edged blade with a double-edged point and shallow fullers on both sides. Both sides of the base of the blade etched with gilt cartouches variously depicting a boar or a stag, surrounded by scrollwork. The quillons with guard plate decorated with openwork and rain chape. Grip made of dark horn with silver pommel cap. Scabbard with finely stamped leather covering and silver mounting. Includes inserted by-knife and two-pronged fork with matchingly mounted handles.
