Peach-trees areespecially susceptible to injury, and thegummy oozings from the little holesseem to weaken them so rapidly thatthey succumb in a short time. It is good practice to keep orchardtrees in the best possible health andvigor at all times to enable them to resistnaturally the attacks of these insects,but if one does become seriously infestedit should be at once cut out and is certain to die in a short time, and it is a constant menace to surrounding trees from the abundanceof specimens which will be produced, ready to attack others atthe least sign of weakness.
