Bromine store outside factory. Photographed in North Wales. Bromine, like other group seven elements ( chlorine) is a highly reactive and therefore very dangerous chemical. It is toxic by inhalation, ingestion and skin contact and causes severe burns. It is used in the production of a number of industrial compounds including pesticides, water purifiers/disinfectants, flame retardants, anti-knock mixtures, dyes, photographic chemicals and medicines.
