Latvia: Riga. The Riga Radio and TV Tower (Rigas radio un televizijas tornis) is the tallest construction of the Baltic States. Built on the banks of the Daugava river betwwen 1979 and 1986, it started broadcasting in 1986. With its highest point reaching 368 metres, it makes it the third tallest tower in Europe and the eleventh in the world.
