The parish church of St. John the Evangelist, Havering-atte-Bower, London.

The church of St. John the Evangelist, consecrated in 1878 on the site of St. Mary's, was designed by Basil Champneys in the Decorated style. It is of brick, faced with flint, and comprises chancel, nave, north aisle, organ chamber, vestry, and an embattled south-west tower. Much of the brick came from the old church. The building cost £5,276, towards which the main subscribers were David McIntosh, lord of the manor of Havering, and Mrs. Pemberton-Barnes. During the Second World War the church was slightly damaged by bombing.
