The Great Northen highway is Australia's longest named road running 3200km from Wyndham in the East KImberley to Perth's outskirts. The Kimberley section doubles as part of National Route One (known as Highway 1), the route that circumnavigates the country. and passes along the edge of the Great Sandy Desert, crossing the Mueller Ranges.
