The Belfry in Bruges is situated on the market square since Medieval times.


The Belfry was built in medieval times, the tower and cloth hall underneath date back to 1240. The Belfry tower was a place to store important documents. Today, the music that is being played at a carillion with 47 bells, can easily be heard throughout the entire inner city.
