A jalapeno pepper grows on a plantation near the Las Guacamayas Eco-tourist Center in Chiapas, Mexico, February 27, 2010. In addition to farming, the ejido runs the eco-tourist center Las Guacamayas, reproduces the Scarlet Macaw in its natural habitat, reforests the jungle by setting aside a large percentage of land for a nature preserve, helping to protect many animals in danger of extinction.
