Stegosaurus fossil tooth. This herbivorous dinosaur lived during the Upper Jurassic period, 155 to 144 million years ago. Most fossils of this dinosaur have been found in North America. This specimen was from the first evidence found for the presence of this dinosaur in Europe. The Stegosaurus fossils were found in 2006 near Batalha, in central Portugal. Photographed in 2010, in a palaeontology laboratory in Lyon, France.
