A coyote emerges from the woods at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 29, 2017. JBER is home base for approximately 19,000 Airmen, Soldiers, Guardsmen and civilian employees but the installations 84,530 acres also are home to a menagerie of wild animals.
