Currie Bros,, 108 Wisconsin street, the oldest established retail store of the east side, have from the first main- tained what was once considered a large plant of greenhouses, when every florist grew most of the stock he sold. The quantity of flowers handled has so increased that the product of their own plant would not be a factor of importance were it not for a few praiseworthy specialties. Wm. Currie says it has been a debatable question with them whether to move the plant to their Wauwatosa land, erecting more extensive and modern houses, or do away with growing altogether. The city has grown and hedged them in so closely at State and Twenty-sev- enth street they would not think of rebuilding there. However, after being shown the greenhouse by Wm. Vasatk in charge, it is fair to presume that they will not forego the advantages of their own plant.
