, Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - BauhausKarree settlement Kampstrasse/Kantstrasse. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Hamborn district experienced unprecedented growth. The settlement Kampstrasse/Kantstrasse was built in 1929/30. The settlement was built on a cooperative basis by Bergmannsiedlung GmbH Hamborn. A total of 161 residential units were built in 30 buildings. The settlement, designed by the architect Emil Rudolf Mewes (1885-1949), is characterised by a multi-storey development along the street, which produced a city-like appearance. The settlement has been a listed building since 1991.
