Patterson, of Wollaston, is sending in a nice lot of dahlias, gladi- oli and annual larkspurs. Among carnations coming from A. A. Pembroke is Lady Northcliffe, a beau- tiful, slirimp pink variety, sweetly scented. This variety he has planted more heavily this season. He is also sending in a fine lot of Pink Delight, Alice and Gorgeous. The Budlong Rose Co. is cutting Francis Scott Key of good quality. Ophelia, Double White Killarney, Had- ley and Russell also are fine. The first new crop pansies of the sea- son are coming in from W. E. Turner, of Woburn. Some of the finest asters I have seen this season are those grown by John Barry, of Reading; P. & W. O. Jahn, of East Bridge- water, through W. H. Carr, are dispos- ing of a nice lot of new crop carnations. Their leaders are Benora, Beacon, Matchless, Enchantress Supreme, Pink Delight and Rosette. W. B. Goodenow, of Stoughton, fin- ished his season with sweet peas Sep- tember 11. He is finishing housing double violets, which had made good plants. J. Newman & Son have been kept quite busy through the summer with fu- neral orders. H. R. Comley is depending largely on aquatic flowers in fine variety for a window display at this season. The Houghton-Gorney Co. devotes one window to a display of dahlias this week.
