Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a four-micrometre size iron crystal growing on a pyroxene (calcium-magnesium-iron silicate) crystal from the Apollo 15 Hadley-Apennine lunar landing site. The well developed crystal faces indicate that the crystal was formed from a hot vapour as the rock was cooling.
