She was born in Fall River July 3,1817, and died in Roxbury (then Boston) November 3, her first husband she had one child, Jane Frances Leonard,who was born in Fall River August 15, 1841, and died ofconsumption in Roxbury December 31, 1862. By her secondhusband she had two children, both born in Roxbury, AmoryGlazier Hodges and Edward Carroll Hodges. She had been carefully trained by her mother and herfather, and had received an Old New England academic edu-cation, which included a good knowledge of English andsome apprehension of Latin and French.* She was naturallybright and quick, and was most attractive in person and man-ners.
