This series of low key images was taken as part of a final portfolio in a stage makeup degree. The mother and sister of the student wore makeup and rags to conceptually depict the abuse of black women over the years. The daughter wore a monkey mouth prosthetic, adopting a submissive demeanor. Both have scar tissues applied to their bodies. The mother had a “shaven head” look.
