Judge Van Nostrand was married February 3, 1904, to MissMadeline Leahy and is the father of two children. He belongs tothe University of California Club, and is a member also of the 1ilks,Native Sons of the Golden West, of which he is Grand Trustee, theForesters, Red Men, Moose, Eagles, and the National Union. Heis keenly interested in athletic sports, and is a member of the OlympicClub and the Corinthian Yacht California has produced in the past fiftv vears, approximately,11,000,000,000 feet of redwood lumber, or an average of about 220,000,-000 feet a year. In the past seven years the average annual outputhas been nearly 400,000,000 feet. The output of all kinds of lumberproduced in California, as reported to the California DevelopmentBoard, increased from 251,739,953 feet in 1881 to 581,448,895 feet in1899.
