Many aresealed with seals, and prove tobe legal contracts or conveyancesof land. Others bear rolled im-pressions of engraved some tablets are found Phoe-nician, or cursive Assyrian cha-racters and other signs. The adjoining chambers con-tained similar relics, but in farsmaller numbers. Many caseswere filled with these tablets,which are deposited in the BritishMuseum. We cannot overratetheir value. They furnish us v/ithmaterials
