Dixon Smith, commander, Navy Installations Command, as Smith arrives for a tour of NAS Sigonella, Nov. 3, 2016. This is Smith's second visit to NAS Sigonella as part of a CNIC assessment survey of the Navy's European bases. NAS Sigonella provides operational platforms ashore that enable , allied, and partner nation forces to be where they are needed and when they are needed to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
