Saveljevova Street. Traditional red street sign in Braník district in Prague, Czech Republic. The street is named after Soviet general Mikhail Savelyev (also spelled Michail Saveljev) who was a commander of the 5th Guard Tank Corps of the 2nd Ukrainian Front of the Red Army which attended the liberation of Prague in May 1945 during World War II. His armoured troops were among the first troops of the Red Army entered into Prague at the morning on 9 May 1945.
