PENNOCK-MEEHAN CO., J^nVoi'^T", Philadelphia, Pa. Philadelpbia. GOOD DEMAND FOR STOCK. An eight-inch fall of snow March lo did not help matters much, but as there was little drifting we have heard of no house fatalities such as were recorded a month ago. Business moves along fair- ly well, last Saturday's demand cleaning up the stock in the commission house? nicely. Roses are about equal to the de- mand, there not appearing to be much overstock, in fact the fancies all move off each day. The scarcity of American Beauty roses continues with the long fellows bringing top notch prices. Who ever before heard of these roses bring- ing $io per dozen wholesale and scarce at that during the Lenten season? That is the situation at the present time, while fancy Richmonds command $6 per doz- en. Carnations, particularly white ones, are stiffening up a bit, $4 instead of $.^ as last week. Bulbous stock remains about the same in price but moves a trifle better. Sweet peas are shortening up a little and have advanced 10 cents per 100. The store keepers are now to be found putting in considerable time in the suburbs looking over the Easter stock. The general consensus of opinion is that there will be plenty of nearly everything if the weather should prove favorable for the next two weeks. NOTES. The Leo Niessen Co. is making a hit with its folding or knockdown wreath and pillow boxes of corrugated board. They are convenient and strong and a great acquisition. Business in the new place is now running smoothly. The refrigerating apparatus is much better than ice, keeping a very even tempera- ture. Mr. Niessen says business is all right, the stock moving off nicely at fair prices. The Pennock-Meehan Co. is looking forward to a great Easter trade. In- quiries and orders for stock and grow- e
