Hand cyclists begin their race during the 47th Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, Virginia, Oct. 30, 2022. Organized by the men and women of the United States Marine Corps, the 47th MCM is the first live event since 2019. The mile race drew roughly 20,000 participants, more than 2,200 Marines and Sailors, and 1,500 civilian volunteers. Known as "The People's Marathon," there is no prize money for top finishers; all runners were celebrated for their honor, courage, and commitment.
