An Indian khanjar with chiselled jade handle, 2nd half of the 17th century, Double-edged, slightly curved wootz Damascus blade with reinforced point and central ridge on both sides. Handle of greyish-green jade cut in relief with bud-shaped pommel and lotus flowers on both sides of the grip base. Leather-covered scabbard with silver fittings punched with flower ornaments, the reverse locket with silver-trimmed decorative tassels attached to the suspension loop. Length 40 cm.
