A heavy harquebus,German,1st quarter of the 16th century. Forged iron,round conical barrel with a reinforced muzzle in 22 mm calibre. On the right side the touchhole with a recessed powder basin behind surrounding double notches. Smith's mark stamped on top,and a rectangular recess(presumably to insert sights). The bottom has the barrel lug and a pierced forge-welded hook. Rusty and pitted surface.
