Treatment for blocked brachial vein. Coloured angiograms (blood vessel X-rays) of the arm of a 37-year-old man who is being treated for venous problems resulting from renal dialysis. The vein before the treatment is at top, with stenosis (narrowing) and poor blood flow. The insertion and inflation of a balloon catheter is shown at centre. At bottom is the vein after the operation, showing improved blood flow. The operation is known as percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA).
