In Aphelocheirus the metathoracic scolopophorous organ lacks a sensory membrane (Larsen, '57). In most specimens two minute dark spots on the membrane indicate the point of attachment of the scolopophorous organ. Whether or not these are definite sclerites could not be deter- mined.
