Stone angel at entrance to Bodleian Library, Oxford

This is one of two stone angels that flank the entrance arch to the Bodleian Library at University of Oxford. The crumbling sandstone arch next to the angel bears testament to what the stone work has had to endure over the centuries to be admired today. It is an angel defying acid rain, defying the elements, and greeting students and tourists alike at the entrance of this historic library.
