View NW to Ruthin in the Vale of Clwyd from where Offa's Dyke Path crosses the Ruthin-Wrexham drovers' road W of Llanarmon yn Iâl, Denbighshire, Wales, UK. The track crests the ridge/saddle between Moel y Plas to the S (L) & Moel Llanfair to the N (R) & splits before descending to the Vale; the 'official' route takes a sharp RH turn (marked by fence & tree line in middle distance) to head for Ruthin, but the LH branch towards Graig-fechan was probably also used by drovers. The trade in Welsh black cattle driven to England for fattening & sale reached its peak at the turn of the 18th & 19th centuries.
