After remaining some timein Kineton, his father moved with his family to London, where he com-menced business as a contractor andbuilder. About this time the buildingof the first railroads in the world tookplace and about the year 1840 hisfather took a contract on the Man-chester and Birmingham Railway. Itwas during this period that the Mar-getts family first heard the gospel ofJesus Christ as introduced and taughtby the Prophet Joseph Smith. Allthe family except his father joined the. Church. He was a true believer in thedoctrines of the Church, but his busi-ness at that time caused a delay. Hewas compelled to return to Londonwhere he was taken sick, and in a fewweeks died. Bro. Lorenzo Snow, a dearfriend of the family, visited him dur-ing his sickness, and afterwardspreached his funeral sermon. Thiswas in 1842. The family remained inLondon for some time, but later movedto different parts of England. Phillip Margetts was one of the firstlocomotive engineers in the world.
