USS Providence (SSN 719) completed its 16th and final scheduled deployment returning home to Submarine Base New London in Groton, CT on Thursday, April 1, 2021. The Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine was commissioned on July 27, 1985 and is the fifth Naval vessel to be named for the capital city of Rhode Island.
